墨菲定律

1. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
如果有可能出错的事情准会出错。
(不要心存侥幸之心！)

2. You will always find something in the last place you look.
你总是在最后一个地方找到你遗失的东西。
(做事要细心，不要粗心大意。)

3. No matter how long or how hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper.
不管你花了多少时间和精力去买一样东西，买来后你总是会发现某处卖得更便宜。
（不要以为自己能占到或是捡便宜。）

4. The other line always moves faster.
另外一条队伍总是移动得快一些。
(人外有人，山外有山。或是：做一行怨一行。)

5. In order to get a loan, you must first prove you don't need it.
为了申请到贷款，你首先得证明你不需要它。
（银行只有锦绣上添花，没有雪中送炭。）

6. Anything you try to fix will take longer and cost you more than you thought.
不管修理什么东西，都会花掉比你预计的要多的时间和金钱。
（要做就一次做好！）

7. If you fool around with a thing for very long you will screw it up.
如果长期懒散地对待一件事情，你会把它弄得一团糟。
(要做就得速战速决！)

8. If it jams force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
如果它堵住了就使劲压。如果搞坏了，反正它是该换掉了。
(不要怕失败。一旦下定决心就干到底！)

9. When a broken appliance is demonstrated for the repairman, it will work perfectly.
每次把坏掉的电器演示给维修工看时，它却总是能正常工作。
（不要将得失看的太重！）

10. Build a system that even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it.
建一个傻瓜都会用的系统，当然只有傻瓜才会去用它。
（要建立制度就要建立简单容易执行的制度。制度要化繁为简！）

11. Everyone has a scheme for getting rich that will not work.
每个人都有一套没有用的致富计划。
(不要轻信别人，要相信自己！)

12. In any hierarchy, each individual rises to his own level of incompetence, and then remains there.
在任何等级体系中，每个人都会到达他力所不逮的层次，然后就呆在那里。
(要不断的挑战自我！)

13. There's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it over.
从来不会有足够的时间把它做对，但却总有时间重做。
(要做就一次到位！)

14. When in doubt, mumble. When in trouble, delegate.
有疑虑时，来回的说说。有麻烦时，找合适的人做。
(不要轻举妄动！)

15. Anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or fattening.
生活中美妙的东西要么是非法的，要么就是不道德的或是会导致肥胖的。
(天下没好事！处事要精灵点！)

16. Murphy's golden rule: whoever has the gold makes the rules.
墨菲金律: 有金的人制定规则。
(有钱就是真理！Golden 是金黄色，gold是黄金。许多英文的笑话，或是幽默就是靠动词，名词，或是形容词的转换，让人发笑。)

17. Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
大自然总是与瑕疵为伍。
(大家都比较同情弱者！)

18. A Smith & Wesson beats four aces.
一把史密斯-韦森枪胜过四条爱司。
(美国西部开发时期，每有赌博时，即使你手中的牌有四个爱司，也比不上别人手里有把枪。用老毛的话来说就是:枪杆子里面出政权。)

19. In case of doubt, make it sound convincing.
有疑虑的时候，尽量使它听起来有说服力。
(话越多的人，越有破绽！)

20. Never argue with a fool, people might not know the difference.
永远别和傻瓜争吵，人们也许看不出你和他的区别。
（要知道有的人是：朽木不可雕也，粪土之墙不可污也！）
